The company Schaum-Chemie
Wilhelm Bauer GmbH & Co. KG is a small-scale enterprise
with headquarters in Essen. It is nationally and
internationally active beyond the boundaries of the Ruhr
region.
The company Schaum-Chemie was
founded in 1951 by Wilhelm Bauer. At that time it was
chiefly engaged in the development, production and
marketing of chemicals and equipment for the
generation and application of UF foam plastics. The
basis for this was a small portable device developed
by Wilhelm Bauer, with which it was possible to
prepare the first foam plastic material on
aminoplastic basis at any desired place of
application.
This foam plastic material became
known under the trade name of ISOSCHAUM (later also
ISOFOAM in the international language use) and was
chiefly utilised in building construction and mining,
but also found applications in agriculture, in the
pharmaceutical industry and in the packing industry.
The company Schaum-Chemie pioneered quality and quality
control already in the early fifties. It is a foundation
member of the "Quality association of plastic products", of
the "Quality association of foam plastics" and of the
"Specialist association of foam plastics" in the general
association of the "plastics processing industry".
In 1970 the son in law of Wilhelm
Bauer, Hans-Jürgen Kraumendahl, joined the company.
Initially he worked in the purchasing and marketing
department. After the retirement of Mr. Bauer at the
end of 1984 he took over the business management of
the company Schaum-Chemie.
Generation changes in the company and extreme changes in
the traditional markets are challenges, which the company
Schaum-Chemie has always faced and mastered.
After 24 years as managing director and a total of 39 years
with Schaum-Chemie, Mr. Kraumendahl handed the leadership
of the company over to his successors: At the end of 2008
Mrs. Michaela Henke-Kraumendahl and Mr. Ralf Klösener took
over as managing directors.
Through intensive research and development work the company
has continually extended and enhanced its innovative power.
The primary company goal is to adapt dynamically in
future-oriented manner to the changing market conditions.
Therefore the company Schaum-Chemie today develops,
produces and markets primarily special dedicated foam
plastic systems for selected market segments. In addition
thereto it provides customised technical problem solutions
for its customers on the highest quality level.
More than 5 decades of experience
have led up to a high level of technical knowledge and
business competence, making the company well known far
beyond the boundaries of Germany. The tradition of the
company Schaum-Chemie accompanies its business
activities continually, but the outlook is always
directed ahead looking into the future. The market
conditions and the product requirements are
continuously changing, and the company will continue
to take this in its stride. The next generation change
is imminent.
